I also found the interface to be too busy and messy. Each downloaded notebook is saved to your hard drive in Zip file format. Like Mr Kaufmann, I found the "free form" concept just did not work with my brain. Quiver is only available on OSX and I cannot see it becoming available on other devices for some considerable time - for me though I do not consider this to be an issue. Their performance kept me away such that I learned not to bother opening the apps.
